Skincare from a skin scientist
NishLabs was founded by Dr Nishat Zakaria, who has spent years studying how skin actually works.
Nish is a skin scientist trained in molecular biochemistry, with a doctorate focused on skin biology and how the skin barrier, pH, and microbiome work together to keep skin in balance.
But NishLabs did not start in a lab — it started with a feeling familiar to a lot of us. Watching friends and family cycle through endless serums and actives, often with more irritation to show for it, she kept coming back to a simple idea: what if skincare worked with your skin instead of against it?
That question became the brand. Her research informs how we think about formulation — biological plausibility, gentleness, and respect for the skin’s own systems — while the goal stays refreshingly human: skin that looks healthy and feels comfortable.
A note on claims. Nish’s scientific background shapes our philosophy, but it is not a promise of clinical results. NishLabs products are cosmetic and wellness products, and we are honest about what is still being developed and tested.
Right now, that means inviting a small group of UK testers to try our barrier-support serum concept and tell us what they really think.
